FAQ

Q. I buy bottled curry sauces, they work just fine.

I can completely understand the temptation to use them!

I have used them myself!  But what makes them shelf stable without any refrigeration? What's in them? Are they fresh?

"I Don't know how much or what spices to use, so I just buy the curry paste. But I always end up using more than half a jar as the flavours seem to evaporate" - Dylan

Q. Why shouldn't i just buy the cheaper curry powders already in the market?

Great question. I am a bargain hunter myself and I will be asking the same question. Being a cheap the generic curry spice mixes use turmeric as a filler. It gives a vibrant colour to the curries so the consumer thinks the product is working.

"Most of the products we get in the western countries don't have authentic flavours. There might be too much Haldi (Turmeric) and not the right balance of flavours" - Arman

Q. It's a bit expensive!

The last thing I want to do is to compromise on quality. If I wouldn't feed it to my family I wouldn't feed it to you. Mr India is is a blend of 15 handcrafted spices in perfect proportion so you can cook like an Indian with zero effort. Le me ask you if I may?

If you were to buy 15 spices individually, how much do you expect to pay? And what do you do with them after you have used a little bit of each spice for one particular curry you wanted to make.

"If you were to buy 15 spices, I would imagine and depending on where you get them and how you get them, it will cost you close to $50 because if they already come pre-packaged it’s like $5-$6 dollars each spice!! Then they end up in the back of my pantry because they don’t all always get used"- Barbara

Q. If I use one curry powder, wouldn't all the curries taste the same?

Believe it or not, but with Indian cooking many of the same spices are used in dishes with just a few added or minus here and there to differentiate. The different flavours in various curries are achieved from different ingredients other than the spices. For example, korma gets it district flavour from coconut milk. tikka-masala from cream, and Vindaloo from tomatoes and Vinegar, but the spices used to make these 3 different dishes are almost the same.
